The approach mattered more than the list. We worked as a pair, two Canon 5D Mark IIIs each, one body on a wide and one on a long, so between us nothing was ever missed.
Henley’s combo of choice was the 16-35mm f/2.8L and the 85mm f/1.2L.
Laura’s combo of choice was 24-70 f/2.8L and the 135mm f/2.
Henley started on the Canon 5D Mark I, eventually moving to the Canon 5D Mark II. After a few years we upgraded all bodies to the Mark III. Henley also used a Canon 1Ds MK3 for a few years too. The full kit over the years:
